At first glance, you don’t expect Jojoe Delgado to be a multicultural cook with years of working on the line with chefs and cooks across the Bay Area. He is a humbled, warm-toned man, East side grown, and making a living with Eastside Kitchen.

“Not every pop up or drop will be a good turn out. Sometimes you’re gonna have to take an L. What I tell myself is, you just gotta keep it pushing, once you quit on yourself then you’re done. No one is going to keep you pushing but you,” Jojoe says.

After a successful birria taco drop in his Eastside neighborhood, Gay Ave and Cedar Lane, Jojoe had been eyeing a flat-top grill to kick off his dream of being his own boss. Co-owner and fiancée Daisy Lopez saw the perfect opportunity to push her fiancé’s dream to completion. On a sunny Father’s Day stroll in 2020, at the beloved Berryessa Flea Market, they purchased their first flat-top. At that moment, it was now or never.
