The Rivers and the Streams
The Rivers and the Streams
BY Henry Gabriel Jimenez
Innate value,
Carried through the essence of the breath.
Blood coursing through our body from the oxygen it sends.
Instilled Desires,
That are generations deep,
Implemented by the elders and awakened when we dream.
Like the rivers and the streams,
That carries Salmon on their Journey.
A migration of opportunity and seasonal yearning.
As the Papalotl that flutters,
Patterns with the seasons.
Arduous but familiar,
traversed by many beings.
The little ones and the giants,
Living in Harmony,
The two and the four-legged,
Reflection of Destiny
Itβs the In Tloque Nahuahque,
Interconnected Sacredness.
Of all living beings,
With the Dignity to exist.
